From MetaLink
Applies to:
Oracle Reports Developer - Version: 6.0.8
This problem can occur on any platform.
"Checked for relevance on 09-Oct-2007"
Symptoms
You are attempting to open a .PDF report file from a URL within Internet Explorer (IE) and you receive an error similar to the following:
Adobe Reader could not open 'pa017721.fdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)
When you attempt to open the report file again you receive the same error, however, the number portion of the '.fdf' file has incremented, now returning 'pa017722.fdf' for example.
This file could be your main report file or a report called via a hyperlink.
Cause
Several possible causes and solutions are discovered causing this issue.
Solution
1. To resolve this issue you may wish to install a browser other than IE. If this is not feasible, please ensure that you do not have IE patch Q832894 applied.
OR
2. You may also bypass the problem by un-checking the “Display PDF in Browser” option in Acrobat. This will cause any drill-down reports to open correctly in a second (Acrobat) window.
OR
3. If the problem is encountered while using reports in "Oracle Applications", then test the following steps :
a) Set the report format to PDF in Concurrent Programs window
b) Set Viewer Text' profile to Browser.
c) Verify to have following settings for PDF in Viewer Options window:
File Format: PDF, Mime Type: application/pdf , Description: Browser |
